Responding to change as it happens…
This is what is going on and changing, and you’re IN the thick of it! The process is underway and here is the moment when you can check in with yourself on how adaptable you are being, how you’re feeling and how the change is showing up in your world. This is the part of the process when you are able to re-align or correct yourself if you need to, once any errors have shown up or mistakes have been made.
Tips for responding to change:
Feel your emotions.
It’s surprising how many things we do as humans to stop ourselves from being really with our emotions in full authenticity. The temptations to ‘escape’ them are ever-present. Alcohol, TV, venting to a friend on the phone…. Try changing these habits slowly and literally lay on your bed staring at the ceiling to deeply process.
Boundaries.
Be clear on these! Lovingly enforce them with others. You’ll be more respected and it’s imperative for adapting to change whilst still honouring yourself and what you’re trying to achieve.
Talk to others!
Change is one of the areas that needs a lot of flowing communication, and it can be easy to let this slide when lots is on our plate! You’ll feel better for having the conversation we promise you.
Trusting your gut (Intuition)
This is one that is never taught in schools or universities but should be! Intuition is so incredibly powerful and is a unique language that only you can speak to help navigate through life. The etymology is broken down to mean ‘Inner Tuition’- the teaching coming from inside you. Your body is always sending you messages about your environment, people and decisions to make. If you notice day-to-day that your heart pops when talking to that special someone, that your stomach sinks when offered a certain job role then listen to it! That is your body communicating what is right for you. Intuition often feels ‘neutral’ mentally and is a skill that can be sharpened with practice which is terrific as it’s available to everyone! This Forbes article has some beautiful tips for tuning into your gut.
Tips to increase your intuition:
Slow down.
If your life is go-go-go all the time your intuition cannot be heard or felt. It needs rhythm and balance, not frenetic energy, and a scattered mind.
Signs.
If you’re a little more spiritually minded this one’s for you! If you believe in signs, you need to ask for them. Notice what shows up visually, in music, overheard conversations and so on and see if there is an obvious common thread.
Meditation.
This is you allowing a conversation and relationship with yourself to the deepest point. Yes, it’s a big call! It’s true though, by committing to this practice that has proven to have a maelstrom of benefits, your intuition can wiggle in as there is new space for it.
